Up all night

Who: Gokudera, guest stars
When: A standard highschool Thursday
What: WEIRD SHIT OKAY?!

She scrubbed a hand across her eyes and cracked her jaw on a yawn as she watched the sun rise. Another bad night but who was counting these days? Those damn Nipon kids kept making probes into her safe zones and she just couldn't have that. One of these days she'd have to step up to actually killing one of the bastards, and that wasn't exactly a comfortable thought. Terrorize? Hurt? Sure, no problem.

She hadn't killed anyone yet.

Cripple, maim, yeah, came with the territory, every kid in a gang got scars, that was just life. And hell if they limped for life they'd move into a safer way to live....right? Odds were good they'd at least stay out of her zones.

Ah well, stupid thoughts in the morning.

What was on the docket? Hmmm, Thursday. That meant English, History, and Chemistry. She'd spare the teacher the heart attack and skip Chem. Napping on the roof today it was. Home was a run away, and breakfast was an orange and a handful of vitamins that Shamal had left on the counter for her. That worked, vitamins were a simple concession to the domestic peace or some shit. He nagged less when she took them, she actually felt a little better when she did, it evened out right?

Fuck, if anyone ever saw her taking them they'd think she was out to grow her tits or something. Rumors started for less really. Another good reason to take them now in the morning because she was betting if she skipped them too many times Shamal would show up at the school to feed them to her. Tenacious bastard would carol at the top of his lungs about it to.

Orange, vitamins, scorch mark on Shamal's note to let him know she'd gotten it...what else? Hmmm. Oh, right. Bag. And uniform? She glanced down at herself and judged the torn jeans. No...new jeans though. And she compromised whimsically by adding the school tie around her neck. It looked good framed by the jacket.

That or she just enjoyed the home room teacher's eyes skipping over her with a wince most days. He didn't comment, she smiled, everyone got along right?

Right.

Getting along meant the kids knew better than to whisper about her while she was sitting near them. She liked the quiet even if it was a touch nervous, it let her work out some of the more complicated ideas in her head instead of taking down the actual notes the teacher was encouraging. Some days her rep made her laugh; she constantly shocked the people around her by being well behaved at school. The shock was damn funny. Besides, if no one wanted to start things with her...why wouldn't she behave?

It wasn't like she was psychotic or anything. Chaos and terror was a tool. Speaking of, Shamal had set her a task the other day. He didn't think it was ladylike for her to fight the way she did. It lacked...finesse. That was funny as shit when she stopped to think about it. Finesse. She wasn't looking for polite, veiled little threats after all. They never worked.

Never.

Accuracy though? He had made her look at the angles on accuracy and she thought that dense as he was with the wording, he might have a point. She could do better. So much for sparing the Chem teacher; she sauntered into class a hairsbreadth behind the man and kept walking to a lab station. Thankfully for his nerves she just snagged a wax pencil and kept walking right out the back door.

She needed it to take notes on her cylinders.

The roof was as good a place as any. She stuck to the flat, student areas, slopes were for Hibari, but sitting with her back against one of the fan units at least gave the illusion of isolation. Angles...

...angles...

...fuck she was tired. She set the marked piece of dynamite down by her knee and stared at it like it would suddenly be clear if she could just....get it to cooperate. It wasn't an obliging thing. "Fuck," she sighed, judging the time. How long until the roof filled up with lunch kids?

Probably too soon admittedly. She tucked the pencil behind her ear and lit a cigarette, watching the smoke from the first puff swirl up into the sky above. At least it was a nice day? Or something. She was probably suppose to think something moving or sappy at this point and reach enlightenment...

..."Heh," whatever.

Just as she was drifting toward a nap she heard the soft squeak of a shoe. No door opening, no students, just that one incongruent sound. She peeled an eye open, not moving, not yet, but if Hibari had come down off the roof it was going to be a bad fucking day...

Or there could be a really odd shadow stretching from behind her resting spot. What the fuck was a some guy in a hat doing up on the roof? No one wore hats at school. Not hats like that. And had it fucking twitched a tail out?!

Okay, she was awake now. "What the fucking hell?" She snarled, laying a hand on the unit behind her and using it to pull herself up over the top in a smooth motion. There was...no hatted man behind her.

Fuck.

WHO THE FUCK DRESSED A BABY IN A SUIT?!

"Ciao-su!" the munchkin greeted.

Really? Just...really? Somehow this was Shamal's fault. Empathy training or some shit. Give the girl a baby he found at the clinic or something. "Listen...kid...it's..." what the FUCK was she suppose to say to him?!

"Shamal told me where to find you!"

OF COURSE HE DID. "Just...go home kid. Ignore strangers with candy next time okay?"

The black wrapped child grinned sharply, a look that made her narrow her eyes and rethink things a little, then smiled more normally. The fuck was that about? "Okay!" he burbled as a baby should. "What's that guy doing?"

What guy? SHIT HIBARI WAS BEHIND HER WASN'T HE?! "GO KID!" She snapped, craning her neck around and...that wasn't someone attacking her. That wasn't someone attacking her at all.

"Oh fuck." Suddenly the kid didn't seem to matter as much as he could have. There was a damn student on the wrong side of the rooftop fence. WHEN HAD HE GOTTEN THERE?! Fuck but she must have been a lot more out of it than she thought! "What the fucking hell are you doing?!" Who the fuck was it even? Hard to tell from behind, all the damn school uniforms looked the same.

There were times when she did look back on her actions and ask herself what the fuck she was thinking. Really, why jump off a bridge when chasing people? Why play in new construction sites? Why draw a smiley face on her dynamite? What the fuck was she thinking?

This was probably going to be one of those times. She'd think about it later. Now? Now she was moving, feet hitting the chain link just as the boy started a slow pitch forward into freefall. FUCKER.

The top of the fence bit into her belly something fierce and if the wall had been solid instead of chain the sudden snagging of the boy's shirt would have slammed her nose into pudding, still, she fucking caught him. Kinda. In that 'hand in your shirt' kind of way.

Then she realized she should have thought before she acted this time. Boys were fucking heavy She could feel the fabric of his shirt starting to give and she could feel..."THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!" she growled as the boy reached up to pluck at her fingers. Fine, he wanted to play that way?! Just fine. No idiot got to throw themselves off her roof when she was resting. HE COULD TRY AGAIN ELSEWHERE OKAY?!

Now it was a challenge.

"Seriously, stop that shit you idiot." Oh hey, with him looking up at her like that she could identify him! It was the superstar, the sport nut. Huh. Took all types huh? "Warned you fucker..." she spit the curse and used her free hand to work her tie loose, some careful maneuvering and hey, check out who could get his hand tied to hers? VICTORY!

Kinda.

His shirt ripped.

The sudden jerk made her yelp, feet almost slipping from their anchor points as her shoulder gave a sickening pop. Oh.

Fuck.

"FUCK."

FUCKITY FUCK.

Great, she had a dangling, suicidal baseball idiot dangling from a DISLOCATED SHOULDER NOW. Sure, it had been a stretch before? But now there was no way in hell she was going to be able to get them both back up.

Heh. "Ow. Did you have to fucking weigh so much?" At least the funeral would be full of confused people? Killed by good deed. Awesome and shit. Easier to think on that than on how much she hurt now, or how much his face was blurring in her sight. SHE WAS NOT GOING TO CRY. It just hurt. It made her eyes sting.

And she wasn't going to think about that ominous 'chink chink chink' as the weight slowly started pulling her the rest of the way over the short fence.

And hell, she wasn't going to think about the gun shot and...

...wait. GUNSHOT?! WHO THE FUCK ADDED SHOOTING TO THE DAY?!

She'd look around and try to spot it but it seemed kinda stupid to divide her attention right now.

The top of the fence scraped and snagged on her jeans before her thighs hit the top, just a few moments now and...

...and there was a 'RARRRRRRRRR!' What the fuck? Was this just the day for crazy shit?! Next she knew there was a strong arm sliding under her scraped belly and another hand reaching past hers to snag Yamamoto. "MUST SAVE THEM WITH MY DYING WILL!"

Okay, maybe it was just the near death experience and the pain making her hallucinate but the boy who rescued them and dragged them up over the top of the fence looked like his head was on fire. Oni maybe? Why not add demons to the mix? It'd be just as awesome as aliens right now.

Ow fuck but she hurt. "Well done," the baby on the roof smiled.

That was just icing on the damn cake. "OW, that's still fucking attached baseball idiot." Did she care enough to untie their hands right now? Ehhhh...fuck. Maybe later.
