He laughed, both happy to see her more relaxed and embarrassed that she called him out so easily. It hadn't been that easy before getting sent to the future. They'd been friends, sort of, the way any people who weren't good at having real friends could be, and they'd trusted each other more than just about anyone, but something had changed in the future. He wasn't entirely sure what, but he liked it.

"If?" He glanced at her, eyebrows raised. "Just if?"
